Released on September 11, 2001, Love and Theft arrived as a bold, shape-shifting follow-up to Dylan’s critically acclaimed Time Out of Mind. Where its predecessor embraced a brooding, meditative tone, Love and Theft burst with energy and mischief. Dylan at his most loose, literate, and joyfully unrestrained. Drawing deeply from the well of American roots music - blues, jazz, rockabilly, folk, country, and swing - the album offered a rich, panoramic vision of the nation’s musical heritage refracted through Dylan’s singular lens.

With his touring band in tow, Dylan recorded the album live in the studio, capturing an immediacy and spontaneity rarely heard in contemporary records.

Love and Theft was met with widespread acclaim and marked yet another artistic reinvention in a career defined by them. More than two decades later, it remains a standout in Dylan’s 21st-century output. A wry, rollicking testament to his enduring restlessness and range.

Now available in a limited smokey coloured vinyl edition.
