John Boorman directs this semi-autobiographical drama based on his experiences as a child of World War II. Nine-year-old Bill Rohan (Sebastian Rice-Edwards) is growing up in London during the Blitz. As his whole life is turned upside down he fails to see the catastrophic effects war is having all around him, instead seeing the positives that war brings including the complete removal of rules and discipline.

The cast includes David Hayman, Sarah Miles and Derrick O'Connor.
