After 30+ years of uncontrolled drinking and drug use The disease of alcoholism took me all the way down. I did all that was in my power to end my life...and failed. There's a special kind of hopelessness when you can't even kill yourself. I ended up at AA. Many years later this is the story of my experience with the 12 step recovery program.
