My life has been a series of speed bumps. No father. No friends. And worst of all, I have a headful of wild, red hair, putting me on the fast track to ugly. As if that weren't enough, Mama had something bad happen to her, and she's in a coma. All I have now are my books, my teachers, oh, and Mama's flaky friend, Margie. There's the park bench too, which I grudgingly must share with a stranger, even though Mama says strangers are strangers because they are strange. Sometimes that's true, but...sometimes it's not.
