The last thing newly divorced Lacey Magerin wants is a relationship with Shayne Donnelly. The NHL goalie is ten years younger, her brother's best friend and he has no desire to be in Granville, Saskatchewan.

All she's trying to do is adapt to this new life where her husband left her for a twenty-two year old while her youngest daughter, a hurt, angry fifteen year old, blames her for the divorce. The last thing she wants or needs is a summer fling as her life unravels.

His hometown holds few good memories for Shayne. The Magerin family and hockey were all that kept him sane until hockey provided him with the permanent escape he needed from his drunk, abusive father. He's returned just long enough to participate in the yearly hockey game at the Magerin Hockey School and then he's out.
