Quiet Lessons is a beautiful story of the author's perspective growing up in a large Appalachian family rich in Christian values handed down from generation to generation, and how these became so powerful in their lives, yet never stated. These values and lessons became so ingrained in their lives, that one doesn't even realize their affect until much later. The author recounts stories from her own personal experiences, and those handed down from her ancestors... some heartbreaking, and some with humor, but all leading us to understand the value of learning these habits of serving, work, charity, and most of all, love as we share with our own families, children, and community.
