Skye Jordon realized her only option to have protection against Burt Hicks and the killers he employed, was to send for a mail order husband. She needed a man who wasn't afraid to stand up against Burt and his men and needed a man who would free the town from being terrorized by them. She did the only thing she could and placed and ad for an outlaw mail order husband. When Heath Dillon answered her ad, and wrote letters to her, she knew he was the one she wanted to protect her and her gramps and the town. Heath Dillon was a notorious outlaw, pardoned by the Governor along with his gang of men for information on other gangs and bringing them to justice.
