Symposium for Severine
Michael Fitzalan
A modern version of Plato's Symposium. A comedy that examines serious issues. Socrates and his friends discussed the four types of love. In this updated version, women are the philosophers, led by Severine. She is the catalyst. Gaston, Giles and Mercer are typical modern aging 'lads'. It is up to Severine and her friends to open their eyes and their hearts to the joys of love. An updating of Plato's Symposium. A play for six characters. A party where love is discussed and debated.
