Throughout the 1970s Yes produced a stream of gold and platinum-selling albums, with 'Fragile' and 'Close to the Edge' considered fan favorites. Credit for their long-standing relevance lies with the distinctive vocals and lyrics of frontman Jon Anderson and the musicianship of the band's many members who have come and gone over the life of the group. The recordings on this double LP set consist of live BBC and other radio-related tracks and all date from 1969-1970. The fact that the BBC sessions never permitted retakes, and were never intended for commercial release, gave them a raw, spontaneous quality that makes them very different from the studio equivalents. The insert contains liner notes by Peter Banks, the band's co-founder and lead guitarist during this era, that reveal a lot about what the band was like during this era.
