Professor "Louie" & The Crowmatix from Woodstock, NY have been recording and touring nationally for the past six years. Woodstock Records released their fourth studio CD 'CENTURY OF THE BLUES" in 2005. This CD averaged # 20 for six months on the American Radio Rhythm & Blues Chart. The CD consists of original tunes and favorite covers in the genre of the blues and this tribute travels through the many styles and influences of some of the greatest blues artists. Professor "Louie" & The Crowmatix have been consistently playing premier clubs including BB Kings, The House Of Blues in LA, The Towne Crier and The Turning Point, NY and Fitzgeralds in Chicago to name a few. They have performed in Ontario, Canada at The London,Windsor and Thunder Bay Blues Festivals and in the U.S. at The Detroit International Street Fair, "Gathering on the Mountain" Festival, PA and the Clermont Heritage Festival in New York. They have shared stages with The Wailers, Eric Burdon, Johnnie Johnson, Luther Alison, Jimmy Vaughn, Bobby Blue Bland, Bela Fleck, James Cotton, Graham Parker and Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame artist Garth Hudson from "The Band". They have received rave reviews in many magazines and newspapers: The Village Voice: Professor "Louie's" upstate ensemble is an Americana template that jams out timeless rock, country, blues and New Orleans influenced originals. The Record Review: "... a tasty mix of rhythm & blues and rock & roll. This is a great band." Professor "Louie" & The Crowmatix CD's have been getting airplay on over 100 radio stations throughout the U.S. and Canada: "Over The Edge", "Jam" "Flyin High" and the latest CD "Century Of The Blues". Professor "Louie" & The Crowmatix recorded as Rick Danko's backing band on his critically acclaimed CD "Times Like These" and were the featured musicians on Garth Hudson's solo CD "The Sea To The North". In May and November of 2005, Professor "Louie" toured Novosibirsk, Siberia Russia performing and teaching songs from The Crowmatix songbook. A DVD will be released in 2006 from this tour. Tagged Prof. "Louie" by original member of The Band vocalist/bassist Rick Danko. Professor "Louie" co-produced & engineered as well as performed on "THE BAND's" last three CD's, 'Jericho', 'High On The Hog' and 'Jubilation', Prof. "Louie" learned his skills early on playing keyboards with "The Mighty Gospel Giants Of Brooklyn". He also recorded and toured with Mercury Rev on their critically acclaimed CD's 'Deserter's Song' and their latest release 'All Is Dream'. Professsor 'Louie' produced two CD's with Ireland's Four Men and A Dog, played Hammond Organ, piano and accordion with Graham Parker on his new CD, 'Deepcut To Nowhere'. He produced and played with The David Nelson Band "Vision's Under The Moon'. "Louie" produced and played with the Crowmatix on'The Sea To The North' by Garth Hudson & he performed extensively as a duo with the late Rick Danko and produced and played on Rick's great CD of Band songs 'Live On Breeze Hill'. MARIE SPINOSA--'Miss Marie' from Brooklyn, NY is an accomplished singer, songwriter and percussionist and had performed for many years in concert with her own groups in the tri-state area. Marie toured the college circuit before moving to upstate NY where she eventually became a member of The Crowmatix. She has co-written many of the songs on Professor "Louie" & The Crowmatix releases "Flyin High", 'Jam', 'Over The Edge' and 'Century of the Blues". Miss Marie's strong vocals and percussion can be heard on varied recordings: "Deserter's Song' by Mercury Rev, "Jubilation' by The Band, "Long Roads' & 'Dr. A's Secret Remedies' by Four Men & A Dog. Her soulful background vocals are featured on Rick Danko's 'Sip The Wine' single from the 'Live On Breeze Hill' CD and also on Rick Danko's 'Times Like These" CD. Marie's percussion can be heard on Garth Hudson's "The Sea To The North" CD. Miss Marie has a solo CD with The Crowmatix "Collection" and her singing, musical arrangements, piano playing and percussion demonstrate her versatility and consistency. GARY BURKE--Gary Burke has held an esteemed career as drummer for Bob Dylan, Joe Jackson, Jesse Winchester, Graham Parker and many others. Having played on gold, platinum and Grammy winning albums, Gary is now devoting his time to recording and touring with The Crowmatix. Gary was the drummer and percussionist for The Radio City Music Hall Orchestra for four years during the 80's. Frank Campbell '' Frank played bass with The Rick Danko, Levon Helm duo tours of the 70's and early 80's. From there, he moved on playing with Steve Forbert and later relocated to Austin, TX where he worked with "Asleep At The Wheel" for ten years in the studio and on the road. Frank moved back to The Woodstock area and teamed up with "Louie".. Josh Colow '' From Woodstock, New York - An in demand guitarist, Josh has toured The United States and Europe with Jesse Winchester and with his own group. He has worked extensively in the studio with Livingston Taylor, Artie Traum and many others. The latest member to join Professor "Louie" & The Crowmatix - a great addition.Frank Campbell '' Frank played bass with The Rick Danko, Levon Helm duo tours of the 70's and early 80's.
