Heir to the Blood

Aoife was born the Heir. Despite that, she, just like the rest of the One Kingdom, spent her entire life under the harsh and unbending rule of her mother. As Clan have absolute power over humans, so does the Queen have absolute power over the Clan. This pushed Aoife to rebel from a young age. She never pushed so far as to incur the full force of her mother's wrath, but just enough to prove to herself that she still exists outside of her mother's control.

Then she wakes up next to a human man.

Her mother walks on the edge of insanity. She's not known for her mercy, and if there's one thing that makes the vampiric Queen see red, it's humans. In her rage, she banishes Aoife to the far reaches of the kingdom with a do-or-die ultimatum, with an emphasis on the die. Good thing Aoife never listened very well.

What starts as a fall from grace quickly spirals into a realm of survival and betrayal as a past left forgotten comes back into the light.
