Journey Back is informative, mentally stimulating, controversial, and inspirational. The author, Imani, uses her own life as an example of the various issues blacks deal with in America. Imani also uses her own life as an example of what it's like to attempt to reconnect with the Africans in Africa today. In this book, the author walks the reader through the mental, emotional, and spiritual evolution that led her out of a life of comfort and financial stability in America to a life of hardship in a land unfamiliar to her.
