"Seeing Through Blue: Finding True Expression" is a poetry and prose book that follows an adolescent girl as she tries to find what means to experience loss, rejection, loneliness, and grief all while trying to find who she truly is. Life is more complicated than she originally thought and this is her journey as she tries to find the best way through the mess that becomes her life. Her story contains downfalls, but she always manages to find her way back up by finding meaning within herself rather than seeking it in others. The only time she feels safe to express all that she feels during these times are here, in these words of "Seeing Through Blue: Finding True Expression". This is a collection of Sadé Ford's poetry and prose written throughout her years in high school. There are no direct ties to any individuals and can be interpreted in any way the reader chooses. The main focus should be on the use of language and expression. This is Sadé Ford's debut book to get her foot in the door of being a published author. She had been encouraged by her peers and teachers to one day publish her work from her freshman year of high school. It always was a thought in the back of her mind until mid-way through her junior year, that she decided she would publish a book her senior year because why wait for the perfect moment to start on something you've always wanted? So this is her senior project before she graduates, so she can step into the world knowing she has already begun on the path of the life she wishes to live
