Acquisition of Oral English Language Skills: a Tanzanian Standard Three Lesson

Oral language is very crucial in communication because speech is mainly used in sharing information between a person and another, behaviorists support that, language is speech rather than writing. The idea also is shored up by Selinker and Gass (2008), that children without cognitive impairment learn to speak before they learn to write and many societies have no written language, although all societies have oral language. The book would contribute to the existing literature on the oral English language acquisition, and help to identify reasons and solutions to poor performance in oral language acquisition. Furthermore, the book would provide information and data that could be useful to educational authorities to plan ways on how to improve performance in oral English language acquisition among Tanzanian primary school pupils, and in particular, standard three pupils . Moreover, the book might provide a framework for organizing and conducting further research related to oral English language acquisition.
