3037, anno machina. Humanity has left Earth since long and on one of the Arcs from that Exodus, known as Scorpio 2, hacking is the greatest virtue and a lifestyle has evolved around it, with kids hopping their bodies with electronics to come closer into their revered software world. Here lives Jeremy Star, a broken hacker that has the System, the Wire, hallelujah, say it with me, as his only reprieve from reality since his infant son died in a strange disease and his wife committed suicide soon after. His existence is nothing but grief, hacking and caffeine and he has no wish to go on nor any strength to quit. But one day he comes by some random information in the System that points to that the disease that killed his child might have been planted and soon he is finding himself being the only thing standing between justice and someone that isn't shirking from a baby holocaust to make a fine dime.
