This book contains stories about wine producers, educators, retailers, and chefs. It contains three distinct timelines. Two are about living in Ohio, one during the 1950s and the other more recently. The third or "middle" timeline is about living in and around New York City for nearly 40 years. Visualize a spicy hot dog at Coney Island near the ocean on a hot summer day. The two-sided warm bun is a metaphor about Ohio. The hot dog is what happens when you live somewhere else. Ten years ago, I moved back to Zanesville, Ohio from the east coast where I'd been living and working since 1966, more or less. For a brief time in the mid-1970s, I lived and worked in southern California. The point is this. Most of my adult life was spent somewhere else, not Ohio. For the first 19 years of my life, I lived in Ohio. Ohio is where I grew up. Living and working in major cities changes people. It transformed me into the visual journalist I am today. At the end of this book is an author page containing information about my education. As a lifestyles writer, landscaper, and backyard gardener, I'm filled with hope and a vision for the future.
