These poems represent my process by detailing my journey of healing myself. First identifying my troubles, then figuring out how to cope with and defeat them, and finally the triumph that comes in doing so. Not only am I self-examining, but I'm also exploring how my community and the world around me has affected me and shaped who I am as a woman today. My hope is for you to learn while reading this book. I want you, the reader, to understand that growth happens in stages and there is always someone who can relate.
