Henrik Ibsen was a 19th-century Norwegian playwright who is credited with being perhaps the biggest contributor to Modern theatre. Ibsen wrote many classic plays, such as A Doll's House, Hedda Gabler, Ghosts, and An Enemy of the People, and he is still the most widely performed playwright after Shakespeare.
