He lives with his wife and two daughters in Tesuque, New Mexico. Description: Toby's family is different from most. His father is retarded and his mother brain-damaged. When Toby hears the Reverend Olsen tell his mother that her son is running wild, Toby recognized it as another skirmish in his long battle to stay with his illiterate parents. The minister's charges, along with those of a neighbor who accuses Toby of stealing, are only two of the daunting problems Toby must confront.
