"Bite of the Buckle" is a country music drama set in Odessa, Texas. The story follows three young country singers as they navigate their way through the music industry, friendship, love relationships, and the high price to pay following their dreams. With a strong love for classic country music, Nill, Sadie, and Ruby stand out in the small town of Odessa, Texas thriving on their failures. They find refuge in the local country music scene and honky tonk known as "The Saddle," a lively country music filled saloon. When a Nashville record producer comes into town, the girls are faced with new chapters to follow. But are they all ready to move on to the next chapter of their careers?Nill, a pretty, blonde haired-blue eyed, country singer that loves jamming to whatever country song is fresh on the radio, works as a farm hand at the local dairy farm. As she has a strong love for animals, she has an even stronger crush for married rancher, Roger Hart. Ruby, tall, exotically beautiful, dark hair, always pushing the band forward, loves all outlaw country music, and has a love/hate relationship with whiskey - works nights at The Saddle as the bartender/waitress while her local country singer boyfriend, Kilter, works as the head chef. As Ruby prepares to start her life with Kilter, her ex-boyfriend and Kilter's best-friend, "wild-boy" Nolan, comes back into town after traveling the world, to his surprise comes to find out his ex-girlfriend and best friend are now together. Nolan's sister, Sadie, is petite, red pin-up hair, loves all things vintage and classic country music, and lives her life like she's dressed out of a 1950's western comic. She's the strong songwriter of the group, and local filmmaker. As she sets out to make a documentary about a country singer from her home town, decades of bad blood stirs up between the country music families. As Sadie becomes a pawn in this country music game of chess, she has to decide which side of the tracks she stands on.
