While their pastors and parents worry about Christianity's numerical decline, young Americans are focused only on its moral decline.

Modern Christianity has been so heavily corrupted by greed and politics that Jesus wouldn't recognize it if he were here today. The Biblical teachings of truth, love, faith, compassion, and personal responsibility have all but disappeared. These once Christian virtues have been replaced by a culture of grievance that looks at the rest of the world with contempt. Closed off from all criticism and scientific evidence, the only growth in Christianity today is in its many scandals.

Jesus Wept shows the end result of the Christian moral decline. Even when someone is willing to accept the Christian position that the Bible is true, modern American Christians still get it all wrong. Their interpretation of the Bible relies on tradition, rather than Biblical scholarship. The distortion of these traditions by political interests has led to the church that exists today: closed minded, ethnocentric, bigoted, abusive, hypocritical, and traumatic.
