For the first time in his life, Trevor Ladouceur is comfortable in his skin. He'd spent his entire life denying he was gay, convinced it was the only way he could live out his dream of playing hockey in the NHL. The reason for the change? Trevor's new boyfriend, Derek LaVigne. The two had been best friends and linemates on the gold medal-winning Team Canada at the World Junior Championship years ago. After a night of celebration ends in passion, Trevor panics and leaves before Derek wakes up the following morning. Years later, Derek is traded to the team Trevor plays for, the Detroit Wheels. Trevor is forced to face some hard truths-not only is he gay, but he's also in love with Derek. When the coach of the Wheels puts them together both on and off the ice, Trevor realizes he doesn't want to lose Derek again. Now Trevor is convinced he can have it all-a career and the man he loves. All he has to do is figure out how to come out to his family, keep his relationship secret from the rest of his teammates, and win the Stanley Cup. Shouldn't be too difficult, right?
