The Crystal Star takes place mainly in the parallel world of Quontonia where Funkie is faced with the daunting task of having to go against her best-friend, Jabu, to get the Crystal Star (which is said to hold the key to bridge the gap between parallel universes and grant immortality to its holder) in order to save the free-spirited Archemides from the rigid, law abiding Dragonides. As preparation, she has to learn how to fly by controlling her emotions. But as she undergoes her training, she discovers there is somebody that wants to get rid of her and in addition to mastering her new surroundings, she has to also look out for her life. The lessons she learns along the way slowly answer all the questions she's ever had about life, but will this knowledge be enough to guarantee her success? An adventure story about self-discovery and the pursuit of ultimate freedom.
