So begins the Book-of-the-Month-Club novelist and award winning short story author Robert Day in his new book Robert Day for President, an Embellished Campaign Autobiography. His book is a memoir about how he "became the political person he is today" growing up with a Republican father, a Democratic mother, and a Polish Socialist grandmother. What "feels good" about Day's book are the scenes and the characters. We see him at a 1960s rally protesting his university's off-campus housing policy, "a policy that discriminates against African Americans (who were not yet African Americans in Kansas, nor even Blacks, but Negroes or Colored.
