Care, Gender, and Justice
Bubeck, Diemut Elisabet (Lecturer in Political Theory, Department of Government, London School of Economics; and Jean Monnet Fellow, Lecturer in Political Theory, Department of Government, London School of Economics; and Jean Monnet Fellow, European Unive
Women's unpaid work at home has not concerned theorists of social justice, despite the fact that it renders women vulnerable to exploitation and hence injustice. Through a discussion of various conceptions of work and women's work, the author develops a theory of women's work as care which elucidates its injustice, and develops a new `ethic of care', relating it to considerations of justice.
