The Trial Of Joan Of Arc

French auteur Robert Bresson presents a dramatisation of the trial and execution of the French national heroine Joan of Arc, captured by the English during the Hundred Years' War. Basing his screenplay on the actual transcripts of the trial, Bresson follows Joan of Arc (Florence Delay) as a young peasant girl castigated for being a witch after she claims to have been commanded by God into leading an armed rebellion against the English.
